Say “ouch” if someone says something that hurts you. Say “oops” and genuinely apologize for the ways your intention did not match your impact.

To break the habit of over-apologizing, especially amongst women & femmes, we choose alternate options in lieu of “I’m sorry.”

Are you someone who knows they take up a lot of space in a conversation? Alternatively, do you prefer to listen and sometimes can’t find the right moment to interject? Try to be mindful of these behaviors and move in and move out when needed. This helps other people do the same.

Name yours and respect others (eg. pronouns, racial identifiers).

We can’t control other members’ responses but we can make sure we’re putting thought into our words and being held accountable if need be.

Protect people in the space by letting the group know if you are about to share something that can be triggering.

Share your learning, not the other person’s privacy. Ask permission from the person before sharing content outside of the group.

This is a space for constructive dialogue. Avoid making personal attacks and focus on “I” statements.

TMS moderators see conflict as an opportunity for shared growth. We believe if the community guidelines are followed this can be achieved.
